EXCLUSIVE: Halloween in Athens now in full force!

by HOCS-award-winning journalist, Lawrence Shields (correspondent)

Athens, OH (HOCS)--
Ready to go.

That's the message from various vendors up and down court street.

Pam, the fabulous Taco Bell (once worked at Wendy's) worker says "we're ready for the rush."

The last street sweeper motored by at 4:40am Saturday preparing for what would be a long day ahead.

So far, OUPD and APD appears to be in full force.

The humble reporter saw two arrests take place.

The first was on Elliot Street outside the new "frat house"; the second happened across from the intermureal fields.

There, a girl sobbed as she was "cuffed" with Zip ties then promptly removed to an undisclosed location.

The corn dog buggy is in position along with a second Ali Baba's Buggy.

Over at Dales BP, liquor controls continue.

To buy even a can of beer, an agent from Dale's BP must stamp your hand with the following info "For Deposit Only".

Clerks at Dale's BP on Court Street tell HOCS this is the only weekend they do this.

Another register was in place to help speed beer and tobacco sales.

Even Dale himself worked the door, keeping the "rift raft" out from his establishment.

This naturally curious reporter saw long lines outside various Athens watering holes.

Only time will tell what this Halloween will hold for the community of Athens, OH.
